I think of psychotherapy as a helping relationship built on trust and respect with the understanding that people are the expert in their own lives. I cannot tell you what decision to take, but I can work together with you to figure out what challenges are getting in the way and making life difficult.

Whatever the reason why you are not living your most fulfilled life, I am here to create a safe and authentic environment to support your personal growth and improve your mental health. As your therapist, I will not judge you. Together we will create goals that meet your specific needs. I am here to fully support you until you are strong enough to walk alone. I will listen for your wisdom, because I believe in your ability to learn new skills, grow, heal and change. My goal as your counselor is to help you find your inner strength allowing you to fully accept who you are and finding the courage to work toward reaching your full potential.

I bring over 15 years of experience working in the Non-profit field as a case manager and program coordinator to my Online counseling work. I have seen first- hand how poverty, homelessness, social injustices, difficult childhoods, health issues, and trauma all impact overall well-being and family functioning. This motivated me to pursue a master’s degree in counseling form St. Edwards University.

After completing my education and passing the Texas state licensure exam I obtained my Associates license #204060 to practice under supervision in the state of Texas. My education and past professional experience have given me the cultural sensitivity to be comfortable working with adults, teens, couples, and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. I have spent the past 4 years working with couples, individuals, adolescents, and families towards full licensure. My passion for helping others led me to opening my own Online Telemental health practice. When I am not busy with clients, I enjoy reading, gardening, and going for long walks, and spending quality time with my family and friends. I am consistent with my daily 20-minute meditation practice to help me remain focused and balanced.

As a former military spouse, I have had the opportunity to live in various states. After leaving the military, our family relocated to the Dallas Fort Worth area. I have a deep understanding of issues affecting our military families. I understand how challenging it is on the family having to live with frequent separations and the happiness surrounding homecomings. Reuniting as a family does not always go smoothly. I am here to help you through the unique demands of being a military family.

As a therapist, I work from a client centered Family Systems focused perspective. I believe in working with where you are at and in identifying existing strengths, which we build on in therapy. I work collaboratively to create Solutions Focused goals, believing that small success leads to bigger success. I use Narrative Therapy to help clients create new and healthier stories of their lived experiences; always focused on helping clients find the inner strength to fully understand themselves and through the work in therapy discover the courage to live their most authentic and fulfilling life.
